The above photo shows our great grandparents on our father's side of the family. Our great-grandfather was born in 1861 in Mecklenburg, Parchim Germany and named Earnest Zanzig. Our great-grandmother was born in 1865 in the state of New York and named Josephine Charlotte Ziehl. The above photo shows them with their family. The young boy sitting between them is our grandfather Ernest Zanzig. Unfortunately, the part of the photo showing his older brothers Louis (on left) and Carl (on right) shows a chopped off picture. Although our grandfather and his father used the same first name, they did spell it differently as shown above. The family had the following children:

His wife Magdalena Steir was born in Germany on January 30, 1830. Magdalena's parents are Daniel Steir and Mary Holebach. They had the following children:

The following three photos show Earnest Zanzig (left photo), Earnest Zanzig standing between Aunt Millie and Uncle Guy Fog (middle photo), and Shirley Zanzig Niccum, Evelyn Garrington Zanzig, Bertha Zanzig Weintz and her daughter Alma Weintz (right photo). Aunt Millie is the sister of Josephine Charlotte Ziehl. Uncle Guy Fog is Aunt Millie's husband. The child in the middle photo is our father.
