The above photo shows our great-great grandfather on our mother's side of the family. He was born on January 29, 1839 in Germany, and was named Karl Richert. We have no information on his wife other than her name. Some of the family names may have slight variations in spelling due to the uncertainty of some of the handwriting from which this information was obtained. The family had the following children:
